Chatterbox: Emotional Wellbeing Workshop
Chatterbox addresses the need for mental health support among children and young people. We visit schools and community centres in our area and hold wellbeing workshops for children and young people. In structured, but flexible sessions depending on the needs of individuals, we cultivate a safe and nurturing space where individuals can openly express their emotions. Following a cognitive approach and using numerous aids, we get the conversation flowing, allowing the children to chatter and identify and express their emotions while gaining insight from their peers. We help to develop their emotional intelligence, empathy and other skills that promote better mental wellbeing by addressing their barriers and developing strategies with a problem solving approach to overcome obstacles.Amanda is a fully qualified cognitive behavioural counsellor and a registered member of BACP trained to work with both adults and children. Her profound insights into the early signs of mental health challenges have shaped the foundation of Chatterbox, an initiative dedicated to empowering young minds with the tools they need to flourish.
